Social media IS getting political. In fact, from what I've read, blogs gained mainstream momentum mainly around the US 2004 presidential election.

I was also blown away when John Edwards added me as a friend on Twitter (and Flickr too, I think)!
I met the folks who ran the Dean campaign earlier this month at SXSW. Apparently the Obama campaign people were in the same room but I didn't get a chance to meet them.Yep, it’s Howard Dean all over again but this time all the candidates are more savvy.
